Federal Government don join body with Gavi, di Vaccine Alliance, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), World Health Organisation (WHO), and other partners, to give about 500 schoolgirls for Abuja and Nasarawa State di Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.

Dem start this action after dem add the HPV vaccine to the routine vaccination wey dem dey give girls wey dey between 9 to 14 years.

Recall say on di 24th of dis month, di Federal government launch officially di HPV vaccine for Nigeria to take helep fight cervical cancer wey dey kill more dan 8,000 women every year.

Dem come yan say dem go begin vaccination for schools inside 16 States plus di FCT from dat 24th October to 28th to take make sure say girl wey dey within di age get di drug.

Di first phase of dis five-day vaccination program involve 16 states. Dem carry out di vaccination for Junior Secondary School for Asokoro, Abuja, and Government Secondary School for Bakin-Ado, Karu, Nasarawa State, for Thursday.”
