The Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mustapha Baba-Shehuri tok for di inauguration for di free anti-rabies vaccination exercise wey dem do for Dukku Local Government Area for Gombe State and dem tag am “Nationwide Free Vaccination against Dog-mediated Human Rabies”.
Dogs for naija and many other countries still dey carry rabies and most of di death wey dey happen because of Rabies for people in di world dey happen because of dog bite.
Di minister yan say rabies dey endemic for naija and other countries and di disease dey kill plenty people every year especially for inside villages and government dey try everything make dem comot di disease by 2030.
Di Chief Veterinary Officer for Naija, Dr. Maimuna Habib yan say Gombe decide to do dis exercise because cases wey dem dey get for rabies dey increase for dogs and people for di state.
She yan say dem dey use di event create awareness so people go know di danger wey di disease dey bring for public health plus how dem go prevent, come control am and she still confam say Federal Government don develop National Strategic Plan to fit control rabies for di country.
