Di Commissioner for Health for Ebonyi, Dr. Daniel Umezurike been yan dis one on Wednesday for di Dog-Mediated Human Rabies Control Programme wey be event dem do to mark World Rabies Day dis year and dem tag am “Rabies: One Health, Zero Deaths.”
Na di state Ministry of Agricultural and Natural Resources been collabo with di Ministries of Health and Environment plus Grant and Donor Agencies been organise dis event.
Umezurike come yan say na like 5 human contacts dem been get, come vaccinate dem and keep dem under watch.
Di Commissioner still explain say rabies na viral infection wey dey spread through saliva when animal wey get Rabies bite person and very serious rabies case go come with craze behaviour like insomnia, excess salivation plus problem for swallowing.
He come add say di collabo dey very importamkpa so people go know how to prevent di disease and also get human prevention vaccine and public awareness.
Di Commissioner come beg ebonyi people make dem dey calm say nothing mega but make dem dey very careful and make sure say dem report any case to di right people.
