Community leaders and members of Health Committees in seven villages in Ebonyi State don promise say dem go increase their jinja on top primary health care mata for their places. Dem give di promise when TalkHealth9ja and the Ebonyi State MakeOurHospitalWork Campaign team bin visit them for their villages and sensitized them on how dem suppose dey work to make primary health care kajad for their communities. The villages wey make this promise na Amata Ugwulangwu, Amaogudu Ugwulangwu, Amechi Okposi and Amenu Okposi in Ohaozara LGA. Others na Amorie Ozizza, Agba (Amaeta) Ozizza, and Amachara-Elu in Afikpo North LGA.
Apart from Amachara-Elu wey don get health committee since 2005, many of the other villages just form di committees within di last 3 months. Dem say dem no too sabi wetin dem work be until TalkHealth9ja come open their eyes. Both Amata and Amaogudu villages in Ugwulangwu wan use part of their townhall as health posts. Agba Ozizza promised to repair di roof of their PHC before end of 2021. Amorie Ozizza promised to give more support to the Ozizza PHC especially in terms of getting more health workers there. Both Amechi and Amenu villages in Okposi get plans to build permanent structures for their health post.
TalkHealth9ja and Ebonyi State MakeOurHospitalWork Campaign team bin do small waka to 7 villages in the state and sensitized them on the responsibilities of health committees, patients bill of rights and #Covid19 prevention. Dem also donated PPEs to the primary health care facilities inside those villages. Dem do all these under di Strengthening Accountability in Primary Health Care amid Covid19 (SPAC) Project wey Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) dey sponsor.
