Niger state don record Measles outbreak for 13 LGAs’ during the period of the Lockdown wey them put ontop the state because of Coro pandemic.
The Director, Immunisation and Diseases Control, Dr Fatima Abdullah, yan this thing for the one-day media orientation ontop measles immunisation awareness on Friday inside Minna, wey the Niger State Primary Healthcare Development Agency organize in partnership with United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF.
Dr. Fatima say this outbreak na because of the Lockdown, naim make wey many people no carry their pikins go collect immunization, because them dey fear hospital now, make Coro no catch them
She say even during Lockdown sev, routine immunisation, antenatal and family planning, everything still dey work normal-normal, but people no go naim cause the palava.
The Programme Manager, State Emergency Routine Immunisation Coordination, Dr Ahmed Abdulsalam, talk say the outbreak na for 13 LGAs.
The LGAs na; Bosso, Chanchaga, Munya, Kontagora, Mariga, Mashegu, Rafi, Gbako, Shiroro, Tafa, Suleja, Lavun, him come say Bosso, Munya and Suleja outbreaks been choke within the last one month.
