The Medical Women Association of Nigeria don carry Breast Cancer screening and awareness go rural communities inside Cross River as part of activities to celebrate the 2019 Physicians Week inside the state.
Dr Jacinta Okoi-Obuli, the President of the association inside the state, been talk on Friday say the association don screen over 100 women inside Calabar.
She talk say the outreach also dey in line with the “2019 Breast Cancer’’ month. Na why them decide to do medical outreach to screen and create awareness about breast cancer.
Globally, Pink October na the month for Breast Cancer awareness. We know say when them diagnose cancer early, them fit cure am. Apart from breast cancer, the association do screening for cervical cancer and surgeries, them don screen over 50 women already.
When them detect cases, them dey refer the people to University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, with the hope say them go sponsor their treatment; them dey also beg good individuals to help them out.
She say the association don schedule another screening for women, for Calabar on Oct. 23, say over them go screen and evaluate over 500 women.
