WE ARE RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS THAT WILL HELP US TO FIGHT CANCER

Who We Are

The Pink Oak Cancer Trust (Pink Oak), Nigeria’s 1st Cancer Treatment Fund, uses an innovative approach in mobilizing funds for cancer diagnosis and treatment in Nigeria. We lead a harmonized and coordinated effort to create a pool of funds from corporations, private organizations, government and individuals and provide support to people with cancer who cannot afford treatment.

Pink Oak envisions a Nigeria where all cancer patients across the country are able to afford comprehensive and best possible quality of care in a timely manner. Our mission is to improve outcomes and increase survival rates of cancer patients in Nigeria by providing practical financial support and associated advocacy for people affected by the disease.  Our medium term goal is to raise at least N350 million to support the treatment of 100 or more people with breast cancer by 31st December 2019, and scale up in subsequent years.

Pink Oak leverages international and national non-governmental organizations and key local leadership to drive ownership of cancer care in Nigeria and ensure that the people have access to the care they need to survive and thrive in the fight against cancer.

Volunteerism is a powerful means of engaging people in tackling development challenges, and it can transform the pace and nature of development. Volunteerism benefits both the individual and the society at large by strengthening trust, solidarity and reciprocity among citizens, and by purposefully creating opportunities for participation.
