United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) talk say European Union (EU) delegation for Naija don provide €48 million to support Maternal, Newborn Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) inside Adamawa, Bauchi and Kebbi States. UNICEF Chief of Field Office (Sokoto), Mr Muhhuiden Fall, talk this thing when him commission the renovated Primary Health Care Centre for Takalau community, inside Birnin Kebbi local government area, say the money come from November, 2015 and e go last till 10th of August, 2020.
The project name na ‘Support to strengthening Primary Health Care and Community Resilience for Improved Maternal, Newborn Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN), “The project go increase the number of poor people, and children below five years of age wey go benefit from increased access to effective utilisation of high impact and nutrition intervention.
E go also improve the functionality of health service provision for health facility, outreach and community-based services for 225 wards inside Kebbi State through capacity building, supplies of commodities and equipment and upgrade of targeted primary health care facilities.”
Mr. Fall come thank the state government for releasing the N100 million counterpart funding for the project, say 41 Primary Health Care centres inside the state dey list for the phase 3 renovation, them don renovate 21 WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) facilities for Primary Health Care centres.
