Women Friendly Initiative (WFI), wey be Abuja based NGO, dey beg Naija men to provide more support for their wives during breastfeeding, to show care and love.
The Programme Coordinator of the group, Mrs Rosemary Adejo, tell News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for Gwagwalada on Friday say that kind support go make the sense and mind of mama and pikin dey alright.
She say, majority of women for Naija dey do exclusive breastfeeding, say exclusive breastfeeding no dey enough because of plenty challenges wey women dey face.
“Breastfeeding dey reduce bad-moods and stress, husbands fit assist nursing mothers and their pikins to get over the stressful time.
“Pikin suppose suck only breast for at least six months, for adequate nutrition, good bonding and supportive husbands too suppose reduce stress for nursing mothers. Adejo talk say stress fit affect the flow of the breast milk from the mother to the child.
She advise husbands to dey assist their wives for house works, make them no just leave all the work breastfeeding mothers.
